1968: Decca Records cancels plans to release the new Rolling Stones album Beggar’s Banquet in America on their “London Records” subsidiary because they fear a backlash against the album’s cover art – which depicts the album’s title, credits and song titles as graffiti in a filthy men’s rest room.

A complete cover makeover is ordered, pushing the album’s eventual release back to December.

You can find the original cover on the current CD of the album.
