  • This Day in Rock HIstory - Sept. 13th

    1990: In a sign that the times really have “a-changed,” Bob Dylan performs for the cadets at the West Point Military Academy. And yes, he does perform his scathing anti-war song “Masters of War.”

    During the concert, the cadets also engage in an impromptu singalong with Dylan on his other anti-war classic “Blowin’ in the Wind.

     

This Day in Rock History - Feb. 19th

1878: 75 years before the creation of rock ‘n’ roll, something happened that was extremely important in rock history. It was on this day that Thomas Edison and his assistants created the phonograph. It started out to be a telegraph repeater, but Edison’s assistant made some changes based on sketches supplied by Edison.
